This European project aims to improve metrological traceability for the measurement of the main essential climate variables (ECVs) defined by the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS).

This project aims to meet current and emerging needs in the field of angle measurement (new, more accurate angle encoders, alignment of scientific equipment in particle accelerators, in situ calibrations with increasingly low uncertainties, etc.).

In order to anticipate the depletion of fossil resources (oil, gas, coal) and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, current governments are encouraging the development of biofuels, produced from non-fossil organic materials. The European Directive 2009/28/EC thus promotes the use of biofuels and other renewable energies in transport.

The term "greenhouse gas" (GHG) includes various gases naturally present in the atmosphere (CO₂, CH₄, N₂O, O₃) or resulting from human activity (CO₂, CH₄, CF₄, SF₆,...) and which have in common to absorb solar radiation re-emitted by the Earth's surface, thus contributing to global warming.

The electrical grid is currently undergoing profound changes throughout the world. Indeed, the current supply networks, which are centralised and incorporate a large share of fossil fuel power plants, must migrate towards an increased integration of renewable energy sources (RES).

This European project aims to develop artefacts and methods to ensure the traceability of the kilogram from a materialization in vacuum.

This project aims to develop new advanced techniques to improve the traceability of the current definition of the kelvin, before the redefinition of 2018. Establish traceability to the SI according to the new definition, in order to support the widest and simplest dissemination of the temperature unit to end users.
